The auto-reload feature is inherently flawed, there's no way to  
completely fix it. That's a reason we did not want to add it in the  
first place. We could add workarounds for the problems that can  
appear, and workarounds due to the problems caused by the workarounds,  
and workarounds for that, etc, but we've exhausted those AFAIC. If you  
want a shortcut for the Revert action you can add it in the system  
preferences. There is no good natural shortcut, so we won't. The alert  
is also there for a reason, because reverting can lead to loss of  
data. As Adam said in his reply, the only good way to solve these  
problems is if you use a script that tells Skim when to reload.
