eject the mounted file (just as you would eject a DVD from the DVD
drive)
That's what I did right now (till now I always threw it into the
wastebasket).
I still have two entries among "programs": Skim mounted + skim with
glasses
Among skim mounted there are two subentries:
1) a folder "applications" and skim with glasses
2) Skim with glasses
1) doubleclick the subentry Skim starts Skim
2) doubleclick this Skim results in a new " Skim mounted " icon on my
desktop.
May I drop the Skim entry 2) ?

Two things happen: a new window opens in which you can drag the skim
symbol to your applications folder. Also, in any other finder window
you will see that Skim is "mounted" in the left column (I suppose you
have a German system: the entry will be under "geräte"). I understand
that this mounted Skim is the one you are refering to when saying
"skim like a disc)
The actual skim program is the one residing in this mounted file, i.e.
the symbol showing a a page and glasses (as shown on top of the
project website http://skim-app.sourceforge.net/)

on July 20th I downloaded SKIM and I've worked with it since then.
But my installation process seems to been wrong.
After downloading and installing I was told to drag the icon into
the programs section.
This I've done.
Now I have among the programs two entries:
1) Skim with glasses. Skim doesn't start with this one.
2) Skim with an icon like a disc. It again has 2 entries:

3) I still have the SKIM Icon (like a disc) among the disc icons on

far.
But: How do I install Skim correctly, so it will be only once in my
programs folder? And so I can throw away the installation icon?
