I just downloaded Cartes du Ciel so am unfamiliar with it as yet.
Using animation into the future I detected four solar system events
of some interest.Tree of them I follower up.
The occlusion of Jupiter and it's moons by our moon visible from
my home 2005/12/7/00:44:00 to 01:50:00. visible in part to western
north America south to the US/Mexican border
The occlusion of Venus by the moon visible from my location
starting 2005/08/07 from 21:18:35 to 21:49:10.
A solar eclipse (2006/03/29) whose path passes through 35d 33'32"
east- 39d 45'n where the totality lasts from 13:03:58 to 13:07:33
their time
My question is; How accurate are these times and positions.
I just switched from dial-up to adsl a while ago and was able to
download Chartes du Ciel and Halo Northern Sky. I like features of
both so run them parrallel on my computer. Both gave identical results.
