You can set a limit (on the faint end only) by adjusting the label
options (prefs>labels>options).  The limit: magnitude setting is not as
direct as it looks: using a higher number results in only the brighter
stars being labelled.
You can also set it to display _only_ the magnitude, without the name
being displayed.
