I rarely post here because it is a pain. Here it is, yet another gsc comment-question. I use a program called gcx for stellar photometry that works just fine with my gsc files. After reading all the posts I decided to get CdC to do the same. I downloaded the files from Strasburg. No Luck. I tried my files from Imaging the Universe. No luck. I got a copy from a friend in Ohio. No luck. This should not be rocket science. I run Linux 9. No need for zip, winzip. As it stands my files are in the form:
/usr/share/skychart/cat/gsc/N0000/0001.gsc /usr/share/skychart/cat/gsc/N0000/0002.gsc etc /usr/share/skychart/cat/gsc/N0730/0594.gsc /usr/share/skychart/cat/gsc/N0730/0595.gsc etc and the list goes on. I saw a post about capital letters. Does this mean that N should be n or gsc be GSC? I know I can't be the only one out here on the funny Linux box who is frustrated. File life is generally easy on Linux. I know the file structures are sound since gcx reads them. So, what is CdC looking for? Robin ------------------------ Yahoo!
