Hi group, I have a problem with astorb.dat. I downloaded the catalog just now ( I love cable internet!!) using the "Online resources" function of CDC. According to the help notes I don't have to do anything to the file as the "Online resources" changes the unix format to DOS automatically.
The file is about 80Mb and is residing in the correct directory, cat/planet/ASTORB.DAT The problem is that when I use "Asteroid position" it's giving the error: "Warning! Orbital elements are one year older than the actual date. Do you want to continue?" I'm using today's date, Nov 13 2005. So what I'm asking is, doesn't Lowell observatory update the elements any more? Should I be using a different resource? --Geoff ------------------------ Yahoo!
