I agree up to a point. FWIW, have a look at how I overcame the problem
of where to put the computer:

While I'd like to have a smaller computer, the way it's positioned at
the moment is extremely convenient and the wow factor is high when
showing public where in the sky the scope is pointed.

All the software I ever use is conveniently located and there are no
cables to trip over. I've since updated my scope so that it now uses
Dave Ek's DSC's instead of the Magellan-1, which was getting a bit
old. Also I've been able to remove the one cable you can see which is
dangling down. --gd
