Update: If I leave the redraw running for long enough (i.e. one mug of
coffee and some breakfast stuff later - yup having a late morning, it's a
public holiday today) the "> :" output ceases and I get a 'Bye!'. Very soon
after that Telnet closes with 'Connection to host lost'. Guessing there is
some sort of timeout kicking in.

Hi Paul,

It seems that the 'redraw' command is broken somewhere. With CdC 3.0.1.2
(WinXPProSP2, connected via Telnet) all I get back is a continuous stream of
"> :". The only way out is to kill the cdc process. With the Apr29
snapshot installed I don't get the "> :" stuff, but I still have to kill
the process to stop CdC trying to process redraw. I have tried 'redraw'
immediately after connecting and after sending a few command (setra, setdec
etc).

Anybody know where I'm going wrong?

Regards

Robin

I've been playing with the TCP/IP interface in the latest beta, with
the hope of adding CdC V3 support to AstroPlanner. So far I have been
able to get some stuff going, but not all.

If I send SETRA, SETDEC and SETFOV they are all accepted, but the
chart doesn't change. I assumed that you would then follow that with
a REDRAW command in order to see the required view. However, all that
happens is that CdC seizes up and stops responding.

Is the wrong command to issue, or is it a bug?

i.e. what's wrong with, say:

SETRA 12.0
SETDEC -12.0
SETFOV 3.0
REDRAW
