Aha. You can't override the symbol set in v3 because I hard-coded this by design. That said, I modeled them on Megastar/SA 2000, on the basis that the symbols should resemble as much a possible a metaphor that is already accepted by observers. I did consider alternate symbol sets, but frankly, the U2000/MSA/SA2000 is near-perfect for active observers. I did seriously consider the Herald-Bobroth (http://www.heraldbobroff.com/)at one point, so just be grateful for small mercies :)) At the same time I added the colouring by object type feature, - again modeled on Megastar/SA2000, but provided the facility to change them as required. IIRC in v276 you can have any colour you like as long as it's green. hth Peter -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of makronti Sent: 01 August 2008 00:28 To: [email protected] Subject: [skychart-discussion] Re: Messier catalogs in version 3 Hello John and thank you After a lot of hours finally I did the compilation of the messier catalog with catgen. One more thing: With 2.76 version and cds files of messier objects, I had a nice square line around any messier object. This was because I edit the messier.cds file and I gave " color=7 symbol=2 ". I can't find in catgen how to create those squares lines around messier objects. Those are very useful. Any idea? ------------------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Links
