What error messages are you getting? FTP is pretty simple minded. Be sure to transfer in binary mode. Text mode replaces linefeeds in the file with carriage return-line feed pairs and messes up binary files. If the server allows anonymous transfers you give it anonymous as the user name and your e-mail address as the password.
