Hi,

I can't figure what I did wrong, but, I really put myself in a jam
yesterday. I was installing Skypewatch, using the new method; and, I
pressed control+s to compile the new script. When that happened, the
default.jss must have gotten corrupted because JAWS totally didn't know what
to do with any key stroke it saw. Because I had JAWS starting as a service,
I could never get anything done. I tried to do an unintended OS re
installation; but, I must have forgotten what to do or something because it
just wouldn't work. After a while, I just restarted the system and got
Narrator going. I then went in to the task manager and; using first letter
navigation, I was able to find jfw.exe and shut it down. From there, I was
able to start a prior version of JAWS to uninstall JAWS 9. From that point,
I tried to re install JAWS 9 only to discover that now, my computer could
not read any of the FS disks I gave it. I had then to download JAWS 9 and I
was able to install and reauthorize it. Now, however, my computer cannot
detect the presence of either my CD ROM or my CD burner. Doug was
absolutely correct in urging caution while installing the new Skype Watch;
but now, I may just decide to do away with Skype all together; but then
again, who knows.

Yeah, I guess you could say I did it to myself; but, then again, maybe it's
time for an OS re installation anyhow.

Sincerely yours,
The Constantly Barefooted,
Ray
