Hi Ruby, I do use a USB headset for my skype and what I do is to make sure that I set the USB headset as the default playback and recording device in skype. S, you want to first, Go to the tools by doing alt plus T and then up arrow to Options or simply hit letter P if you are using an earlier skype other than the version 4. Either action, whether using the up arrow to get to Options or simply doing a letter P would open up the settings; but note that when you do up arrow to Options you must enter, but doing letter P does not require an Enter. Next, down arrow to Audio and tab to the combo box which is where you can arrow down and if you find your USB device among the devices here, leave the arrow key on that and tab to the next combo box and do the same thing and next tab to the last combo box and do the same thing and finally tab to Save; and hit your spacebar or enter to save the changes. I think this way, your skype would now work with you headset. But remember that when you shut down your computer and you take the headset off and restart the computer without it, you would have to repeat the same steps all over again in skype, but if you do not take it of when you shut down, things would remain the way you set them to be.
