Hi! When this option(s) are enabled, Skype presents little pictures with faces smiling, crying etc. If this option(s) are disabled, Skype presents punctuation, letter or both sequences which represent specific emoticon. JAWS interprets emoticons from key sequences, not from graphics and in my opinion, that's the better alternative because this emoticons key sequences are common for most applications (of course there are variations) and will stay the same with newer versions of Skype. I think it was possible to label all the graphics representing emoticons but there's no guarantee it would work in future versions of Skype.
