Dear Sarah, I think this is definitely something you should mention in your new tutorial. Even though Skype three nostalgics will prefer compact view, default view is quicker and takes less keystrokes to achieve the same result. The only confusing thing about this view is that arrowing to a contact doesn't select it and so you do have to press space bar on a contact before reaching its chat box with control five. If you want to go to one of your contact's chat, simply select the contact in question and press control 4 or control five. If you want to leave this chat press control one, and you are in your contact list again. I haven't found any drawback yet but I'm still testing. If you want to try, go to the view menu and click on default view. If you want to go back to the old way, go to the view menu and click on compact view.
