I will officially recommend Skype 4.1 over 3.8 as soon as I release a non-beta script set for Skype 4.1, which I hope will happen in the next two days. At that time, my web site, www.dlee.org/skype, will start pointing to Skype 4.1 scripts by default, though you will still be able to get to Skype 3.8 scripts there.
Skype 4.1 is different than Skype 3.8, but I think the accessibility of the two is comparable. Each has a quirk here and there of course, but unless I missed something, we have reasonable methods of handling the major tasks in both versions. The biggest remaining issue in Skype 4.1 of which I am aware is the management of conferences, but I think it can be done in Skype 4.1 but needs to be explained for the list. I am therefore trying to quit using my Mac for audio calls for a while so I can get experience managing conferences in Skype 4.1 myself before the final script release.
