Hi, got skype 4 working on a xp system running windows xp sp3 256 mb ram. It works fine. Now if your running something as old as 98 don't you think it is time to update anyway. Half the web pages won't load right and the system has not been supported for years. Sorry there comes a time when older stuff just can't be supported any more.
