Hi!
What proof do you have, SDJ Nick, that 90% of blind people use Skype 3.8?
I am well aware that you think this is the best version of Skype, and that
you don't want to upgrade because you think Skype 4 is inaccessible, and you
have every right to hold that opinion and to use Skype 3.8 forever if you
wish: but that is just your opinion and we don't all share it. As you may
have noticed, a lot of people who write to this list use Skype 4: if they
ask questions about it, that is because they want to use it in the best way
they can.
You have every right to have a low opinion of Skype 4, but please stop
spreading the lie that it is inaccessible, and please let people choose for
themselves which version they want to use.
I know I am not the moderator of this list, but I, for one, want all blind
Skype users to make their own choices about which version they use, with the
help of information from users, but this information must be fact, and it is
a fact that Skype 4 is accessible.
Apologies for this rant, but this list is for information about blind
people's use of Skype, isn't it? That's why I, and so many others, joined
this list, to get information about use of Skype, and not to continue
reading the Skype 3 versus Skype 4 argument week in, week out.

In which version, you can know: if contact is of-line last seen, time mood
message, and many more.
If on-line you get on-line status, mood, time, skype name (skype name

avilable)
In this version has many many many more options because you can "turn on
extended keyboard navigation" and "symplyfyed graphics"
For example in request for contact details you have many more options for
example radio buttons "Share your picture with this contact, add this
contact in your contact's list, options, info..." and many more!
And in chat and contacts page it's symply there aren't many links,
options...
You activate/unactivate-sett mood mood text with ctrl+m...
Note: skype watch doesn't speak sighns out!

They are tutorials n how to use skype 4 with the latest scripts at the
time of recording and since that was last year I can't remember but they
should still work.

A: You can configure skype talking to start skype. You can do this via
the
options in it. You do have to authorize it but all you need do there is
check the allow radio button.
2. Do I have to have a webcam in order to Skype or just a mic?
A: You can have a mic, a cam or both. I use both when I want to but
mostly I
use my mic.
3. Do I have an option to chat rather than Voice chats on Skype?
A: You do have that option to do either or. Just set the option in the
general section under tools/options.
