I'm afraid I have no plans to develop or maintain Window-Eyes Skype scripts at this point. The possibility was discussed long ago. In a nutshell, the volunteer projects I take on usually intersect fairly deeply with my own needs, which is a good way of making sure I keep maintaining them after initial release. I am unable to use Window-Eyes as a primary screen reader because of significant problems Window-Eyes has with console screens, in which I probably do 80% of my work.
As for developing another Skype application, I have long figured I could make Clisk capable of running stand-alone instead of or as an alternative to running alongside Skype itself; but time has not afforded me the luxury of doing that so far. I really hope that doug as the creater of the jaws scripts would take on such a project as he already has extensive knolidge of skype the api and has worked with the window-eyes com object. if he is not interested I guess if I want such an app I will have to start learning more about all three subjeccts. as I will be getting a new laptop and going to see my sick father in a few weeks I guess I would be able to find the time to perhaps work on this. so what you think doug interested in such a undertaking. let me say again that I feel you would be the best man for the job. also I feel that the support of the skype app for window-eyes being dropped leaves window-eyes users with only one choice. gw skype is a wonderful salution but it does have limentations and forces users of window-eyes to use an alternative client verces being able to use skype it self. also as new features are added to skype there is going to be a delay before a new skype kit can come out with support of these new features. for example facebook support video calling etc is not supported buy the kit. if a window-eyes app was created window-eyes users would have the support as the new app was updated to include that support. also as window-eyes supports menus and dialogs in the app creation those window-eyes users who have a problem with the complex skype user interface would have access to an alternative user interface. also all the features using the API that skype talking uses could be put in to one app thus no other programs would be needed to access skype accept for window-eyes it self. for those of you who do not know a window-eyes app is much like jaws scripting that is created in the programers langwige of choice. most of the apps are created using visual basic scripting. unlike jaws there is no proprietary scripting langwige. also window-eyes apps can be created to have windows menu and dialogs just like any other windows program. so like I said doug interested?
