I think I discovered what is forcing Skype to get updated whether we allowed
it in preferences or not. I did my morning restore to 3 AM drill I've been
doing for the last week or so, trying to figure out how to block this thing,
when this morning I discovered that Windows update is what is putting it
back every night along with 2 other updates for Internet Explorer I really
do want to keep. From having to teach Windows XP Update that CMedia drivers
are not what are to be used with a Turtle Beach Card once, I had to go in
and hide the audio update after restoring, but I imagine the new Skype
installer file is on my system now on this laptop. If I go in to the update
preferences and hide it, will that finally let me keep the version of Skype
I want to keep, or are all our software versions on our systems controlled
by the cloud now no matter what we say?

There are no recorded tutorials of skype any higher then I think it was
4.2. lol. but this list is a good resource for asking for help and
teaching others.
