Hi Chela and all, As Mark and Richard pointed out, it's important that you have the latest version of Skype. I have a copy of the installation file, so fi you would like it, just shoot me an email and I'll send it to you via Dropbox.
What I usually do to get to the link to sign in with my Microsoft account, I press Insert+F7 to get to my links list, and then arrow down to Microsoft Account and press Enter. Then you'll be ready to sign in with your microsoft ID and password, then you can merge your skype and MSn accounts together. HTH!
