Hmmmmm well skype isn’t activated automaticly when I start the machine. also no such thing as accessibility anywhere. when I get to video settings below that it says set up webcam. of course that doesn’t apply then just says where or not to allow people not on my list to contact or IM there is no accessibility menu anywhere in skype tried even going up from general settings nothing and control plus tab just takles me to skype wyfi. completely baffled. latest skype too.

That depends on your preference. What it means is that the moment someone calls you, Skype will answer the call automatically. Activate the Tools menu by pressing Alt+T, then find the Options menu. Use your up/down arrows to select the Hotkeys option. If you don’t find it, you need to find the Accessibility menu right at the bottom of the Options list, and make sure that Accessible Mode is checked. First of all, your friend needs to go to Tools/Options/Hotkeys and make sure that global hotkeys are enabled by checking the relevant box. Secondly, we as blind people need to remember that Microsoft, and more specifically the world, owes us nothing. The regular version of Skype is not as inaccessible as many people believe. It’s all about commitment. And I’m sure your state convention has better things to devote their attention to. Just my two cents. Hi skype users. a question. a friend of mine has had trouble her skype won’t let her alt page up and alt page down to answer calls. now that microsoft has said demand we use their product and accessibility for blind be damned by ending support for GW connect’s primary skype kit and now that I have uninstalled it, do any on list know if microsoft will offer any tutorials or have proposed any changes in skype to honor their commitment to accessible since for us each time skype is updated it is more and more complicated? so questions. one How do I answer voicemails, send voice mails or call someone not on my contacts list like the custom contact feature GW connect had? how do I reauthorize invited contacts and how to search more eaisly now that we are forced to use a product that is more and more difficult to use by the blind each day. my friend’s not on this list.
