Hi all,

Today I updated Skype to the latest version, and since that update I can't make it sign in no matter what I do. To be exact, I hear the sign in sound, then straight away I get an error report dialog and everything shuts down. I tried uninstalling Skype, cleaning the registry, all to no avail. I also tried removing the temp folder from the application data, and even removed the Skype directory completely. Before the update I was trying to get my chat history from a database file, but I've been messing up with that database for several days, so don't think the reason lies there. The last resort is trying to install an older version of Skype but I don't have any older versions left on my PC. I found a lot of similar threads on the Skype community forums but most of the issues they are addressing deal with Windows 7. I tried a few tricks they suggested but didn't get any positive reaction. I'm running the latest Skype and Windows XP. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Best wishes,
Maya
