Like others here I did read confirmation that Microsoft will stop supporting
older versions of Skype very soon along with their SkypeKit that Gw Connnect
soly relies on to interface with Skype. So better get used to the new version
or consider going elsewhere.

Better get used to the newest Skype version. They send out a mail saying
they'll soon stop supporting old versions of Skype. So you may expect
that it'll soon work no more.
