Try using skypetalking instead. my concern is that eventually users
of older os's will not be able to access skype anymore and will be cut off.

It really is not that different. I always say, get used to change so
that way it's not uch a shock when change happens. Try the new skype
out. it really rocks and supports group conference calling and video
chat and all of that for free now.
Iv'e been using it for about a few years now and it just rocks. and
the team are very reseptive to accessibility now.

Like others here I did read confirmation that Microsoft will stop
supporting older versions of Skype very soon along with their
SkypeKit that Gw Connnect soly relies on to interface with Skype.
So better get used to the new version or consider going elsewhere.

Better get used to the newest Skype version. They send out a mail saying
they'll soon stop supporting old versions of Skype. So you may expect
