+1 for Microsoft Security Essentials, in my new pc my tecnician
installed it and no issues so far.
@Andy: for Outlook problems, I remember somewhere in Outlook 2003 there
was a checkbox to uncheck were it said like ""use Word as your mail
editor" or something like that, I don't know for sure if there's also in
Outlook 2013, try checking the Outlook options and disabling that checkbox.
