I have gone to advanced settings, there are several labeled advanced, and I
cannot find a check box for "keep Skype in the task bar while I'm signed
in".
Can you explain more precisely where this check box is?

Hi Jeremy, Bill and Steve. There is indeed a way of closing the Skype
window and having it minimized to the system tray. Open Skype, then go to
Tools/Options/Advanced. Find the check box labeled "Keep Skype in the

I understand I can do that, but I want to hide the window not completely
close out Skype. I want to leave it open when waiting for a call, but I
don't want to have to deal with it when doing my computing.

I don't hide the Skype Window. I just go to the system tray, and click
Skype. Then I arrow up to quit. Click Quit, then tab to quit and click
again, and Skype will be unloaded.

Just wondering if there is a way of hiding the Skype window. AS is,
when I press alt+F4 to close Skype, and if I press alt+tab to cycle
between applications, I have to move past the Skype window which is a
pain. Has anyone found a work around for this problem?
