the PS3 otherOS environment may not be the best choice to run second
life. The system is essentially virtualized under a hypervisor, and
direct acces to the graphics hardware is not intended by sony. Any
attempt to access this directly is bound to be blocked in future
firmware revisions. The only way to access the screen in a supported
way is through a frame buffer device.

Using the Cell Engine for number crunching may also have its
drawbacks, since these are great vor vector processing, but lack most
of the features of dedicated GPU's.

And last but not least, this thing has only 256 MB main memory, not
expandable. I think if you ever get SL performing nicely on the PS3,
it's higly likely not under Linux, but on the GameOS system with help
of a PS3 SDK.
