I think 'scratchpad' is no good, because it doesn't reflect that this parts of the project should not be used anymore. For me 'attic' is ok, but 'deprecated' would have been parhaps a better choice to make it compliant with cocoon. The recognition when knowing other > Apache projects would be higher.
