I've slide 2.0b1 with tomcat 5.0.16 on a Linux Server (same JDK as yours but an older kernel).
I had not to change the configuration files that came with the release on the server side.
I had only to set the URL to http://myServer:8080/slide/files when connecting with the webdav client embedded in XP.
Can you explain better what's your configuration when you try to connect with XP and
what is the procedure that you follow?
Bye,
Giorgio

I've download and configured the various binary versions of slide and simply cannot get Window XP or Gnome Nautilus to connect. The slide client works fine. I have no problem with the tomcat 4.1.29 webdav client.
The server starts up fine. I can connect with a web browser and see the directory listings. When I set the parameter directory-browsing to false the listings are no longer available as expected.
When I connect using the Windows XP instructions, I receive the message:
The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another.
I've tried changing several of the compatibility parameters to no avail. I've tried the following URI with the same result:
http://localhost:8080/slide/ http://localhost:8080/slide/files/
I'm using Debian with Linux 2.6.3, j2sdk-1.4.2_03, and various versions of tomcat.
Any help would be appreciated even if only to say that someone has slide working on this linux kernel.
