I guess it's possible the wifi chip is failing, but the power supply
unit must also be suspected, I think you have a battery installed so are
you running it on the battery? Does it still red wifi when running on
battery alone?

On the Radio, if you go to settings/advanced/diagnostics/power does the
power/battery health look OK?

In general Squeezebox Radio hardware failures are either total power
failure (caused by multiple components failing in the power circuitry on
the main board), the screen failing and going all white or the external
PSU failing.
The more recently common issue seen is the wifi issues we have already
discussed, it's difficult to know what to advise you to do next, if you
were running on PSU only I'd say try a new PSU - a relatively low cost
option, but if it's doing it when running just on battery it can't be
the PSU.

Obviously as you've mentioned you can try a factory reset, and/or a
firmware re-install - talking of firmware... is this a UE Smart Radio
re-firmwared to Squeezebox Radio firmware and connecting to
mysqueezebox.com??

Only other thing I can suggest if it's running as a Squeezebox Radio is
Pomdev's wlanpoke, you said before you do not have a Windows machine, do
you have any computer available? if so what OS are you running?
