I just stumbled onto this post and I have to say Kev, what a nice
summary in your post #4 !!, and your latest suggestion regarding the
power supply is worth a try. I had a radio that worked, but didn't do
something (can't remember?) and the PS replacement fixed it. They can
get weak, as can the batteries. When weak the impedance goes up, and
when current draw increases, voltage dips. Bad things can happen :)

Issues with the radios and wifi are all over this forum, especially the
last 6 months or so, with no clear resolution other than vonets, wifi
extenders, etc. It seems it's network related, especially with the "all
of a sudden" nature of the discussions.

@kosch_ac, you could try wlanpoke as Kev suggested.

Also, PomDev had a nice suggestion to try that I hadn't thought of, if
you suspect it's your neighbors network, move your radio into your
basement (if you have one) as the ground should attenuate your neighbors
RF sufficiently. He also thought that a previous suggestion of foil over
the radio (to test) might have some merit, but I am wondering if it
needs a ground contact or not. If it worked you could disassemble and
put the foil inside. Not my idea, just repeating it :)

You could use a program like wifianalyzer (android) that will let you
see what your and your neighbors network are doing

I am lucky, I have several radios that are fine. But, I live fairly
rural

Jim
