Re G400: the card is supported by XF 3.3.5 and up, but won't
have dual head support in 4.0, or possibly ever. The second head
isn't a full blown 2nd pipeline, and the XF developers scoff at its
specs. So don't buy it for the second head under linux. Supposedly
a very good card though.
I use a TNT-2 Ultra, and find that since 3.3.5 it works very well. Also
very fast under BeOS (a requirement of mine) despite lack of hw
accell, and good under my legacy gaming OS.
If you can afford it the GeForce is the fastest card available at
the moment, but if you can wait the Voodoo 4 & 5 will be out soon,
and the 3dfx cards seem to have the best opengl / dri / etc
drivers and performance under Linux. Glide is also being released as
open source. My next card will be a V4 or V5 (or a PSX2 :)
