When I asked a few months ago they were using DHCP and Linux was working with

They have to do some upgrading of their boxes to transmit stuff upstream
(TV is of course downstream only).

I gather that doesn't have the same bandwidth requirement (and probably
different data format?) We've now reached the edge of my knowledge.
