You want a one tape back job, so that means a DDS2 tape if you want a
one tape DAT backup, with 120m tapes. (Can anyone confirm this? - I'm
just vague on the max capacity of DDS2).
If it is going to get bigger than 4Gb, buy DDS3 as 4Gb is about the
biggest you could stuff on a DDS2. My DDS3 cost about $2.5K about two
years ago. Not sure what they are now. It is a Seagate. Can not
remember the model number at this hour.
I believe there is a similar gotcha in the Exabyte, but that is a
closed shop system. Nope, don't know which run under Linux.

Don't know this seagate.
