My machine came with win98se installed (recent acquisition) so I used the fips utility
to shrink the win partition down to the smallest size I could - about 2 Gig. and then
used fdisk (linux version) to delete the new partition and change it to several new
ones for linux letting the swap only have 128 Mb.
I then did a full install from my SuSE CDs and when I was asked where to put lilo I
said MBR. Worked like a charm.
NOTE: I have, in the past, avoided any problems with the MBR by loading lilo into the
root partition of the linux system and booted from there, but in this case the MBR
works
fine. I can still boot both, but only biit 'doze when someone else needs to do
something - I find it a bit awkward to use.

Hope this helps
Stay well and happy
Heracles
