I've found that putting lilo in the root partition is the best
solution - keeps all of those other operating systems thinking
everything is okay...

To boot into one of the four or five OS's on my machine without
fuss, I've used GAG. It's a groovy little MBR-resident boot
manager, written in asm, with cute graphics, icons, passwords, etc.
In fact, one of the best features is the ability to boot from a
floppy when you've forgotten to put one in as you turn the machine
on...
