  Bah, humbug. When Postfix provides per-user addressing as good as
qmail's... :) (Disclaimer: I haven't checked recently to see if it
does; it definitely didn't).

  The thing to remember about the qmail-src package is that it is
excruciatingly sensitive to uid allocations. The 'can't change to
queue dir' message is usually a permissions problem. As the OP
discovered, the safest thing to do is usually nuke the previous
install from orbit, and make sure that the userids and groups are gone
from the passwd and group files before you build-qmail.
