Except that Optus dont have a dialin number...
The other option is :
Get yourself a cheap second hand mobile with SMS-MO support and a cable to
link it to your PC
Get a DingoBlue or V-mobile SIM (no monthly charges, just calls/messages)
Download the right software, and you're away.
20 cents/message to any network - cheaper than a dialup, and no monthly fees.
