You can't avoid chainging settings on the laptops. But you should be able to
avoid stuffing up the respective domain logins. The nt one should still work
regardless of where the gateway is - it may even be over netbeui (you need
to do soem more research). If the Novell is around Ver4 than its IPX won't
be affected by net axs. However with Ver5ish it can be "PureIP" and you need
to check the same as the NT login. It can still use IPX. But you can't just
plug em into the hub and expect that they will be able to get net axs. At
least they need a gateway set and DNS. Actually thats about all they need.
As long as there is someway to still be connected to their servers, these
settings will prob not be affected. Use DNS on the gateway and whack in
static entrys for the internal domain for the various servers.. That may
help as well.
You prob need to get a bit more info on what protocols the laptops are using
and also the physical connections involved.
