Once you have mounted the Netware volume you should be
able to do whatever you want. In fact I just tested it
and it seemed to work....but....
I had to make sure the any files corresponded to the 8.3
length that Novell likes.
Also, I had to switch to root to get it to work.

When I tried to get it up and running I just followed
the how-to and had no problems. As long as you have an
account on the server then you should be fine.
