My two cents worth:
Techies should not disdain the non technical rest of the world, for
starters they outnumber us, and secondly, you will not get converts by showing
your disgust, and thirdly it is a very arrogant thing to do and bad for the
soul.
When ever I come across someone who may have less experience or skill, I
remember a corny old saying:
"A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step"
Everybody has to start somewhere, and not everybody will reach Everest, there
is enough room for everybody.
