On Wed, 12 Jul 2000, David Sainty generated:

>make
>make install
>/some/thing/else/appname &

You know, I can't think of anything easier than:

# apt-get install blah

as opposed to the old search-the-ugly-winfiles.com, download, un-winzip,
double-click the setup program (if you're lucky enough to get one).

IMHO Linux distributions are and have always been more userfriendly than
windows with the package management; from the beginning people have
demanded it, explicitly or implicitly in the demand for more
applications... Windows has managed to avoid a decent package manager
with the abundance of store-bought apps and collections of shareware on
the net (i.e. winfiles.com, tucows, download.com, and the like).

Linux rocks.
