i presume you tried one of the other dozen or so mirrors ?

the reverse DNS lookup (IP -> name) isn't working. add dns (or
/etc/hosts if you must) entries for your windows machines, such that
"nslookup 192.168.17.244" returns the correct machine name.

you can probably find some way to prevent samba from looking up this
info, but you'll find that other services will require it too.
