This seems to be a name service lookup failure rather than a Samba failure
as such, but if you NT network has a WINS server (Windows Name Service, not
same as DNS) you might want to set it in smb.conf:
wins server = 192.168.whatever.address
If you have SWAT enabled, it has lots of on-line help.
