X is sadly lacking in a fair few errors, but this one is totally an
application policy issue. Of course, some might say that the concept of
"application policy" is why X is broken...

Try F10, then you can cursor through the menu like an old curses/DOS
program. No idea where the F10 came from, but it seems to be one of those
keyboard standars - can anyone give us some history on this? ;) I guess it
could have been WordPerfect, VisiCalc or Lotus 123... I must admit I don't
know, as I was a Q&A user (known for their rabid use of its integrated
systems).
