WordPerfect 5.1 uses <Alt-=> to get to the menus, F10 saves (yes WP5.1
is still in use around here :-). And F10 also saves in WP8 for Linux. In
the old MS DOS graphical Shell (the one from DOS 4 or so and up), F10
takes you up to the menus - maybe the F10 for menus is an early MS
standard.... (and yes I'm still using DOS 4, at least until somebody
decides to port Linux to the XT - gutsy little machine, still going
strong :-). There's my bit of useless trivia for the day. :-)
