Hardly surprising to anyone who has used NTMail. Personally I think this
has probably got a lot more to do with the hardware and application
software. I honestly can't think of a good mail package for NT that a large
ISP would really want to run, and x86 hardware is certainly not as scalable
as solutions from HP or Sun.
Given the above two statements, there is no reason at all to run an NT box
for bigpond's mail server.
