Hi

I am using Redhat 6.2, got the Postgresql 6.5 with the OS, I wanted to
upgrade to ver 7.0. I download the RPMsfrom postgresql.org. and enter "rpm
-Uvh Postgresql-7*", after that when I enter the command:
"/etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql restart", I have the error message: "Checking
Postgresql installation: old version. need to upgrade.."

I check the rpm version by "rpm -qa |grep postgresql", it did show that I
got the version 7.

I also tried to remove all postgresql RPMs, then reinatall the ver 7.0 by
"rpm -ivh postgresql-7*", I still have the same error message.

Any idea what went wrong ? please help. I am trying to compile the PHP 4.0
with Postgresql 7, has anyone got the RPMs for PHP?

Lewis
