Have you tried using 'soundconfig'? I believe there's also 'sounddrake',
or something like that in the 'DrakConf' menus - one of them offers to
autoprobe for hardware.

What exactly do you mean by 'can't install'? Was this during the
install of Mandrake, and you didn't know which options to select and so
left it? Or is it not able to load the module for your NIC? Again, there
might be something to help you in 'DrakConf'. (Sorry I can't be more
specific, I'm SSHing into my machine and can't check for you).

Yeah, they're on the extensions disk - quite a bit of development stuff
like this is, and yes you can download it.
