I have been a member of SLUG for 6 years and until recently the mailing
list and the people were generally civil and showed respect for others. I
have noticed over the last year that this is no longer the case and there
are more people who seem to prefer to display their ego's with feedback
similar to the above rather than constructive information.
I for one am sick and tired of this total lack of respect for others and
the myriad of off topic crap that is now bogging down this list. From an
old member - slug can go jump as I am not interested in listening to the
continual whining about Windows and other non-linux crap.
How about:
rather than winging - help people!
rather than winging - do something constructive!
If you have nothing constructive to say - shut the fuck up.
As an employer of Linux people - you never know who is listening. I for
one will not employ people with the wrong attitude and I have seen too
many bad attitudes on this list.
As the donor of the server the mailing list is running on - I am more than
a little dissapointed at the direction this list is taking.
As the manager of the largest mission critical Linux site world wide I am
dissapointed by the elitist attitudes being adopted by people. I'm not
sure the Linux movement can survive them.
Well - goodbye to SLUG.
It was fun while it lasted.
Jason.
